Hi, I’m Jacinda, a detail fanatic, lover of sweet things, wife and mum to 3 gorgeous girls. Based in the beautiful Hawkes Bay, I find myself continuously attempting to find that elusive work/life balance.
A qualified chef, I spent the early years of my career gravitating towards the sweet side of things before jumping into event management. When my eldest daughter was starting school, it became apparent that two parents working crazy hours in the hospitality and events industry wasn’t the ideal situation and I was excited for the opportunity to start my own business allowing me a little more flexibility. Pretty Little Details was my way of combining both of the careers I loved – making gorgeous cakes and sweet treats along with planning, styling and coordinating weddings. Opening in 2015, I had dreams of doing a roughly even split of the two, however the cake side of my business took off like wildfire, leaving only a very small window for a select few planning clients each season.
My aim from the beginning was to bring a level of professionalism and consistently exceptional quality to the wedding cake market. My approach is unique and thorough, Its never “just a cake” to me! I am forever in search of a connection that ensures each cake fits the clients style. There is nothing worse to me than walking into a venue and thinking I might be in the wrong place! So I may ask a little more questions than you are expecting and they might be about things that are totally unrelated to cake, but please be assured there is a method to my madness.
